As soon as you lose a tooth, the bone will start wasting away and teeth on either side begin to shift or tip into the empty space.
If you are missing teeth and you do not replace them, these teeth movements will occur and may cause gum disease, tooth decay or the loss of other teeth. As you start losing more teeth, you will be forced to chew in other areas leading to tooth fracture due to overloading, excessive wear or jaw joint problems (TMJ).
At Active Dental, we recommend patients come in and discuss the options available. Remember, delaying treatment quite often results in the issue becoming more serious and more expensive to treat.
