How is TMD diagnosed?

TMJ Disorder is not easy to diagnose.

We will recommend both a physical examination along with X-rays.

The physical examination includes:

• feeling the joints in your jaw for pain or tenderness
• listening for jaw clicking or popping sounds
• examining your jaw motion

After your physical examination, you will then be referred to have a series of 3D x rays and scans to better help determine the health of your jaw joints.
