Sedation Dentistry enables patients to become drowsy and generally sleep throughout their whole dental treatment. Sedation Dentistry actually begins about an hour prior to your dental treatment. A sedative is administered to the patient and after a short time the patient will become very relaxed and enter a sleep-like state. During some dental treatments anaesthetic is still administered to the patient.
